Is there any required college courses to become a detective?

The best place to get the answer to this would be to call your local police station and ask to speak to the detective on duty. Ask him or her what steps they took to get to where they are.

Education is always a plus and JC's as well 4 year schools may offer specific classes that would assist you in becoming a detective. Report writing, juvenile law, child abuse, criminal law, etc are some that I have seen offered. Another class that will assist you is public speaking, but like I said any education will help.
