Jenn’s Answer

I was not a food science major but work at Dell in corporate social responsibility. I feel like food science is going to be a huge need due to the impact of natural disasters and the state of our oceans. There is a food shortage globally especially in economic deprived communities. Here's a great article on the global food shortage from the United Nations: http://www.un.org/en/globalissues/food/. The idea is to think about how you use this degree to help change food supply.

Hope that helps!

Online is usually how everyone is doing it now. But it really helps to have a portfolio either online or a physical book to show them your work. It has gotten my foot in the door in many places.
Thank you comment icon Hi Samantha! Thanks for your response. Are you saying here that applying for jobs is primarily done online now? Also, are there any trends you know of as to how successful the job search is in Food Science? Thanks so much! Alexandra, Admin
