I am pursuing a career as a Physicans Assistant, but I am an introvert. Is anyone out there in the same boat? Did you find your introversion to be an asset or a impediment?

I honestly think that PA is the right career for me, and I have discussed my concerns about how long periods of time interacting with people drains me with a current PA. She is very introverted as well, and has found it to be an asset. I was hoping for a few other opinions, as well as differing strategies for dealing with the strain. Thank you! #medicine #healthcare

Hello,

I am an introvert as well, but I'm also in healthcare. You have to practice gettinv people skills either through instructing, or mentoring. I volunteer to teach so that I can get over my introverted behavior. But the downside is that once I'm home I keep to myself to get my energy back.
Remember PA are healthcare providers you will be talking to people and you want them to feel warm and comfortable enough around you to tell you their medical hx
