Which degree is better?

Hello,
I live in the EU and want to know what is the difference between a standard 5-year european (greek) university degree and a BSc Hons (Bachelor of Science Honours) of an UK university of 1-2 years duration? Which is more powerful and more wanted?
Thank you very much!

Hi Giorgos, My understanding is that the standardisation of European higher education is that across Europe an undergraduate degree of at least three years is called the "licence" or bachelor's degree, followed by a two-year diploma called the master's degree - that is what takes 5 years. Most Bachelors or undergraduate degrees in the UK would take 3 years. If you want to do a master's degree on top of that, they can range between 1-2 years to complete, but it would be in addition to the 3 year undergraduate degree. I hope this helps

Hi! It really depends on what you want to do. Universities in the UKare well-known all over the world for their education quality but so are some European Universities. You need to understand which one is right for you. In UK universities, you'll have to be disciplined and study on your own because (in my experience) you'll have a lot of free time and just a couple of exams (if any) in 3 years. UK universities will leave you the space to learn what interests you and create your own career path. If you'd rather have textbooks to study from and exams at the end of each semester then your European university is for you.

alice recommends the following next steps:

check the scores of the universities you're interested in online. Which one has a higher score
check which program is more interesting to you.
