One thing that really helped me in different application processes are service experiences! It's great to give back to your community and help others out whenever you can. It also gives you something to talk about.
Showing passion is also important and showing the people reading the application that you really want to be there for specific reasons.

Hi Zakiyyah. I think the most important thing to demonstrate in college applications is that you have really strong passion for something that interests you and that you've invested time into whatever passion that is. Colleges will also look at your test scores, academic rigor, and how well you have done during your time in high school. Dont be discouraged by any of these things! I am sure you will do great.
