Civils Services exam offers test in all subjects. you will need to choose few subjects from the list. Like it was mentioned in the earlier answer, you need to choose subjects that interest you so that you can score well.

Apart from mastering the subjects you choose you need to also need to
- be up to date on Current Affairs and news - both National and international
- You must be aware of all major Govt decisions, and have a thorough your own view of implications and advantages
- Participate in Group discussions, essay writing, elocutions
- Read through old exam/Interview papers and Group discussion topics . Mostly available in Competitive Success Review Magazine
- Keep yourself motivated by reading through success of great leaders, earlier IAS toppers, and successful people from all walks of life.
- It is a continuous journey and there is no tomorrow, no Comma and Full stop until you reach your goal to see yourself there.

Atul’s Answer

First, find out from the govt websites what are the requirements for the job to become an IAS officer.
Second, get a college degree and based on the requirements for IAS, study in that field to get a graduate degree (MS).
Use Google search engine to get most of your answers.
Also, check LinkedIn to know who is an IAS officer and seek their guidance.
