Yes, because those are responsible jobs that affect safety of people, so you need to be a responsible person to enter a career like that. But aside from that, if you want to be successful in anything then you need to take it seriously and do your best, and grades show that. That does not mean you have to have straight A's though.

While good grades help, the key is keeping yourself motivated and giving it your all. The knowledge will come over time but if you don’t apply yourself any career will be difficult.
