Hello!

If you are seeking a high-paying job, you don't necessarily need to have a college degree.
These are often tagged as skill jobs (middle-skill or new-collar jobs, hard skills etc.) they do not require a college degree/graduation program, work experience. All they need is the right skillset.

Most hospitals, schools, colleges, health-sector organizations, industries etc. have begun to search for employees with the right skills, rather than the right degree. Some companies even offer paid training programs for job candidates, which are similar to apprenticeships. These jobs are mostly in demand and pay well.

Some skill-jobs are sonographer, computer analyst, network support specialist, radiographers, cloud administrator, machinist etc.

Few new-collar jobs offer higher pay and a better occupational outlook than others, hope this answer helps :)

If you are interested in tech job, you may not need to go to a college. There are many online courses now that you can learn from and also companies like google offer career certificates. Check Google career certificates. In tech fields, certifications and your skills that you acquire from projects (that can be even personal projects) are highly valued.

A few solid routes you can go here:

1) If you’re into tech / good with computers, you can do a coding boot camp instead of college. Much shorter, much less debt and you can make as much or more as someone with a traditional degree by heading into Software Engineering.

2) Join a trade! Many trades, like electricians, make great money. Most will pay you to work while you are learning as an apprentice. If you like doing physical work vs. sitting at a computer, this is a great option.

3) Join the military. If you’re in the US and unsure what your next step is after high school, joining the military will give you something to do and will pay you while you do it. It can build a lot of character and teach you valuable skills. Plus they will pay for schooling after you are done with your contract if you decide to go that route down the line!
