Thank you comment icon I second on looking up your stares requirements! Craig Moye
Thank you comment icon You will need to have laboratory certification like ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology). Some state require a state certification in addition. Such as Florida and California, there are other states I just don’t know which. Lisa Holzworth

Every state has its own requirements and licenses are issued by governing bodies. Here is California it is the California Department of Public Health and in New York it's the new york state education department. Each one will list their requirements although they generally tend to be the same. I would recommend checking the governing body of the state you would like to move to. The American society for clinical pathologists is the usual to go to for taking the exam for your license and on their website is listed the requirements to take the exam. You can opt to take a state exam or a national exam and the national exam will allow you to practice in all 50 states if I'm not mistaken. Call ASCP and ask if they will accept your degree as is or if there are more things you need to do to get licensed. Not all college credits given in another country will be accepted so it would be best to check with them first. You may need to complete some more courses here in the states if they don't accept all of them. Here is a link for nys and generally all states have the same requirements with some exceptions.

Thank you comment icon Hi Gabriel. First of all, I want to thank you very much for you taking time to answer me. I'll follow your guides to know the requirements to validate my diploma and try to get the license. I have been worked as Medical Laboratory Technologist for 22 years in Brazil and I would like to move to US to get another experience for me and for my family. I'm currently living in Canada, so I will let my phone number, just in case. +1 (506) 8994809 Thank you again for your attention. Bests regards. Adriano
