Particularly for software engineering, there is significant diversity in the range of sectors in which you can apply your expertise. You can also choose to work for not-for-profit organizations that may contribute to work which is important to you.

Engineering is at the core of everything new and innovative. e.g. Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering worked together to create the tallest building Willis Tower on a feared clay soil of Chicago ! Robotics, Mechanical Engineering and Software Engineering are the basis for the Robo Dog in patrol in NYC! Every innovation and progress in the society has a foundation in engineering.
