I highly recommend taking a moment to reflect on your emotions and experiences when discussing various subjects or engaging in diverse work, homework, or activities. Discover and embrace the things that truly ignite your passion or spark your curiosity. Even pay attention to what makes you mad! These valuable insights could be the guiding lights on your journey to selecting the perfect major!

Thank you for your question. Many students may have similar question. Firstly of all, you may need to find out what careers you have interest / what you want to do in the future.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about your hobbies, your favorite subjects, etc. to identify the related careers
E.g. If you are interested in Maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
If you are interested in Music, would you like to be a musician, singer, music composer, music teacher, music producer, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue
5. Explore the any entry criteria of relevant subjects in Clark Atlantic University
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

If your unsure you can start with Liberal Arts. But before making a list of what your likes and dislikes. What do you get good grades in and where are your interest. You can always switch your major. I switch schools and majors until I discovered the subject where I was strong.

Lillian’s Answer

Hello Leighanne,

Choosing a college major can be quite challenging, and many people, including myself, have changed majors during college. It's important to remember that the first two years of college typically consist of general courses required for all students, so you don't need to make a decision right away, especially in your first year. It can be nerve-wracking not knowing what to major in, but rushing to pick one won't be helpful.

To make your decision-making process easier, consider asking questions and seeking advice from others. You can chat with upper-level students, like juniors and seniors, about why they chose their majors, explore job shadowing opportunities, and have conversations with college professors and counselors. These are just a few ways to gather valuable information to help you decide on a major.

I hope this advice is helpful, and I wish you the best of luck on your college journey!
