Cons- there will be long days, there will be hot days, there will be days when you’re in dirty areas or muddy trenches.

Pros- those long days become a forgotten memory once you see your project wrapping up, lights turning on, machines firing up. My favorite part of the construction side is seeing the project go from muddy trenches running 4” pvc conduit for service feeders to eventually going through and putting cover plates on devices on a multi million dollar office building. The reward behind that is great. Currently I moved to a maintenance electrician position so my rewards now plate getting production back up and running after an electrical malfunction. Watching the company I work for get back to producing products for customers in need is just as rewarding.

In short it’s hard work and can be stressful at times. But the position you’ll put yourself in for the future will be beyond worth it!
