How do I find scholarships? How do I have a chance to win them?
Hi! Scholarships are hard to find and when I do find them they are usually for seniors or juniors. I want to start my scholarship search early. Please help me. Thank you🩷

I would encourage you to not get discouraged if you do not get the first few scholarships that you apply for. After applying many times, I did not get my first scholarship until after the ninth try. If they were easy then everyone would be getting one! Also, many students go after the "big scholarships" but those are usually harder to obtain and get handed out far fewer times. My strategy was to get a handful of small to medium size scholarships that would add up to a large scholarship. Even though this is more work for you these small/medium size scholarships are usually easier and universities/donors hand them out more frequently.
I know it can be frustrating at times but you can do it and remember to keep moving forward!

Simply fill out the FAFSA and include prospective colleges you are interested in attending. Also, look at your state education website and learn about state scholarships and grants, in addition to the one's you'll find from FAFSA. The FAFSA will give you an estimate of federal aid you would receive. Look into local community college programs that may exists and make college cheaper. Also, websites like fastweb.com and scholarships.com allow you to apply for scholarships. Also, look into local businesses and churches that may give out small scholarships or grants, everything counts. If you have a job, even if it is at a restaurant, see if they offer scholarships or assistance to employees.

You can also look at some websites that can lead you in the right direction. Try Scholarship America or other sites that have the .org designation that indicates they are a non-profit organization.

Great question! I partook in multiple scholarships in order to diminish my pay when going into college. I will say that that a tremendous beneficiary that helped me personally was looking into different clubs and organizations around where I lived. Most likely, these organizations would offer a scholarship that you would need to apply here. Various were indeed competitive, but with the right essay and information put into the many applications, they were a great help in me dwindling my bill within my college organization. For that very reason, I would recommend reaching out to various organizations around your town or city, and asking if scholarships are being released. It goes a long way, and you do not have to be apart of a sport organization either!
