Varun’s Answer

-Start with free resources on YouTube.
-Once you have consumed all you can for free and you still want to pursue it, I would move to online classes (You can pay from Skillshare or any of the top DJs offer classes on how to use these tools)

-Consider enrolling in school to exclusively focus on Music, Audio Mixing and related degrees. Keep in mind this is a very competitive industry and it will take a lot of effort to succeed.

Success in music is something you'll have to define for yourself. Some people think they need a grammy before they'll consider themselves successful. Other's are happy in many other situations. That said, if you're looking to get started with logic pro, youtube is a great resource, like Varun mentioned. Also, if you have a local library, get a library card because a lot of libraries offer a free membership to linkedin learning. There are full courses on Linkedin learning about Logic pro and many other subjects. The courses include stuff you can download and work on. Hopefully this is helpful!

Thomas’s Answer

This is the hard truth about music- everything is subjective. There is no 1 right way of doing things and there will always be people questioning your methods. For example, I was making a song and I wanted a very specific bass sound- in order to get it, I broke multiple "rules" for production and mixing by cranking the volume on the bass all the way and putting a lot of distortion on it. I then resampled it and used it at a good level and it sounded dope. This is a long work around of saying the best way of succeeding in music is to DO IT. You also have to think- what exactly do you want to get out of music? There are people out there (me included) that are going into music purely for the love of the craft. Do this. This is the only way (in my eyes at least) to make music. There are other people that want to go into music for the money, fame, greed, girls, and high end living. This is NOT a reason to go into music. You will be putting hours and hours into this work- you will want to do it all for the right reasons. If you have any specific questions about Logic, you can respond to this comment (IDK how this website works LOL.) Logic is my main software and I use it for everything from writing original edm/ pop to remixing and making mashups.

Hey there, Tyler!

Embarking on a musical journey? That's fantastic! Here's your roadmap to success, featuring some crucial factors like honing your talents, making the right connections, and mastering the use of top-notch tools and software like Logic Pro, a favorite among music producers for recording, editing, and mixing audio. Let's dive into how you can make your mark in the music world and become a whiz at using Logic Pro for audio mixing.

First stop - Skill Development: The key to making great music lies in constantly sharpening your skills. Whether it's getting the hang of music theory, becoming a pro at playing an instrument, understanding the art of composing, or perfecting your production skills, there's always something new to learn. Don't miss out on online resources like tutorials, courses, and workshops - they're treasure troves of knowledge!

Next up - Networking: Knowing the right people in the music industry can be a game-changer. So, make it a point to attend music events, link up with fellow musicians and producers, and learn from the pros. Working together with others not only enriches your experience but also opens doors to new opportunities.

Don't forget - The Right Tools: In this tech-savvy era, having the right tools and software at your fingertips is a must for music production. Enter Logic Pro, a powerful digital audio workstation (DAW) from Apple Inc. It's packed with features for recording, editing, and mixing music. Getting the hang of Logic Pro can take your music production game to new heights.

Now, let's talk about Logic Pro and Audio Mixing: Logic Pro comes loaded with a comprehensive set of tools for audio mixing, helping you create top-notch mixes for your music. Here's a quick rundown of some key features and techniques for audio mixing in Logic Pro:

Track Organization: Keep your project tidy with Logic Pro's track organization features. Group similar tracks and use colors to distinguish between different elements of your mix.

Signal Processing: Logic Pro has a host of built-in audio effects like EQ, compression, reverb, and delay. Learn to apply these effects to individual tracks or buses to tweak the sound of your mix.

Automation: Use Logic Pro's automation feature to control parameters like volume, panning, and effect settings over time, adding depth and dynamism to your mix.

Mix Buss Processing: Get to grips with mix buss processing in Logic Pro to apply processing to the entire mix, including bus compression, EQ adjustments, and stereo enhancement.

Reference Tracks: Logic Pro lets you import reference tracks into your project. Comparing your mix with professionally mixed tracks can guide your decisions during the mixing process.

Mastering Tools: Logic Pro isn't just for recording and mixing; it also has basic mastering tools to put the final touches on your mix before it's ready for the world.

By mastering these aspects of audio mixing in Logic Pro, you're well on your way to producing high-quality music and making a splash in the music industry.

For this guide, I referred to authoritative sources like Apple Inc.’s official Logic Pro documentation, music production tutorials from renowned platforms like LinkedIn Learning, and top music production forums like Gearslutz. These sources offer reliable insights into music production techniques, software usage, and industry best practices.

To sum it up, your recipe for success in music includes constant skill development, networking effectively within the industry, and using the right tools like Logic Pro for audio mixing.
