Paul’s Answer

The confrontations.

Some of the people you will encounter on the job may be emotionally unstable, angry, or just having a bad day.

They will get into an argument or a confrontation and will not back down.

So, learning negotiating skills and how to de-escalate a confrontation helps a great deal.

Kevin’s Answer

Thanks for your curiosity!

The greatest challenges often include complacency, arrogance, ignorance, and bias. However, the specifics can vary greatly depending on factors like your location, job type, community, and environment. Even your employer can play a role. Security jobs can range from routine to highly stimulating, but do remember, the element of risk or danger can be present at all levels.

Don't worry though! Your training, education, and experience are your best allies. They're the tools you possess to counter any potential dangers. Remember, you are equipped and ready to face whatever comes your way!

Sean’s Answer

It depends on the location you would be working. For example, a guard at a mall or store has a lower chance of facing serious danger than say one who works at a bank or warehouse. There are many factors and variables that can change the level of threat, but I feel for the most part, the danger is low. It can be a very good and stable job.

Ezra’s Answer

As a security guard, the most significant threat often comes from people and their unpredictable reactions to your actions. Whenever you need to exercise authority over someone, there's always a chance that the situation could escalate. Your environment and the resources available to you can also influence the level of risk. Another major danger is becoming too complacent. Never assume that your day at work will be uneventful and danger-free, as complacency can lead to serious consequences.
