When looking for an Internship there are a few things I would recommend:
- Look at the company website career/jobs section as this will sometimes have specific content related to interns and a way to apply (if not check if the have a general email and send them your CV and what you are looking for etc..)
- If you have a company in mind search for and reach out to recruiter on LinkedIn (Early Talent is a great key word search for intern jobs)
- Ask people you know if they know of any intern program in their company, even if their own job is not the area you are looking for an internship in as these are usually well communicated or they might ask for you
My final advice is that bigger companies usually have larger internship programs and in multiple locations so if they have an office where you live don't be afraid to contact them - I once applied for an internship in Google and got an interview :)

You'll find that you can refer to about 3-5 significant experiences that can answer a wide range of potential questions. Going the extra mile could involve reaching out to alumni working in your desired field at the companies you're interested in.
