Hiam’s Answer

Hello!
Since your question was pretty general, I' ll answer without giving specifics. So, how does one become successful? In my experience, it's important to do these things:
1. Take a bit of time to reflect on what interests you have, what things / subject areas you're attracted or drawn to (subjects you'd like to know or learn more about, or hobbies, likes, and skills you already have). If you're still unsure, of your top two likes. Then think about them, and write what you love about each. Then it will be easier to choose. (And if you need to take time away from it, think about it more, then come back, do so because it's your future and life, so take some time....but no pressure, and it's okay to change your mind and tweak your choice, but make sure it's something you enjoy and love doing.)
2. After you know what you'd like to do, now you need a "road map" of sorts, or a plan to achieve it. This could be someone such as a family member, another adult such as a teacher, high school counselor, or college advisor. Discuss your interests (two choices) and ask their opinion about them. Ask them realistic questions:
a. the number of years of study to achieve each (the major and minor that could complement each other)
b. the expected salary for each job,
c. if the job is in demand in the present/future, and in your area
d. the number of classes to be taken; hat classes they are
e. any scholarships/ grants to be applied for
f. advice about study habits/ test-taking skills/ pre-requisite classes you can take to improve your skills
g. asking about networking with other like-minded students
3. Now is the time to prepare yourself physically, emotionally, mentally (stamina-wise), academically for success.
You will need to increase your academic skills, knowledge, and do as well as you can in 9th grade through high school to get A's and B's.......and a 3.5 GPA or higher, if possible. Take all of the classes you will need to graduate. Join clubs and do extracurricular activities to be able to put that on your resume. Also, think about learning one foreign language too, to be more "globally-minded".
Learn to prepare for tests by studying a bit every day, and take notes. Also be organized with your notebook, papers, assignments, and make a calendar of "to do things" so you are always prepared. Take neat notes, and learn how you like to study (alone or with a buddy or group), when you can learn best (morning or night), and how you learn best (visually, by listening, or by doing with your hands), and keep up with your reading, studying, test-taking and just focus on being "present" and soaking up information, and you'll see your grades will soar.
Meet with your counselor every term (or as needed) to see how you're progressing. Keep focused on your path.....don't give up and keep plugging away. Focusing is the key, and you need to stay motivated which comes from success.Don't take shortcuts and the 'easy' way out.....this is where your stamina comes in. Grit. Hard work. Effort.
Prepare and take all necessary national / state tests. Study and prepare by taking mock tests, practice tests, and do homework in all content areas as these are practice for the tests.
Be kind to others and likable to adults.A charming personality is so important to meeting people and collaborating with them in teams and in whatever field you choose. Get letters of recommendation from three adults not related to you--so a teacher, principal, supervisor or boss.
Apply to colleges /universities early (in 11th grade in Spring) or early Fall of the senior year. Look for scholarships/grants. Check into colleges and see which ones have the best to offer for what you're looking for. Check out professors and see their ratings. Network with students so you don't feel so alone in the process.

Good luck! :)

Mara’s Answer

Begin by forging your own path, from which you can venture forth and seize any opportunity life presents, propelling you towards success! Allow yourself the kindness of understanding that not everyone is as they appear online. Ultimately, pursue what brings you joy, as you are the only one who truly matters. Remember, there will come a time when we must navigate life's journey alone. It's essential to recognize that success isn't always the ultimate goal. Rather, accumulating knowledge and crafting a journey towards your personal aspirations should take precedence. Success doesn't have a rigid definition, as it varies for each individual based on their unique achievements, no matter how small they may seem.
