Aeliana’s Answer

Hey Annalise!

1.)Graduating high school is the first step-try and take advanced science/math courses if your high school offers them
2.) Complete any bachelors degree- it doesn't have to be biology! Just make sure you take med-school prerequisite classes such as chemistry, organic chemistry, intro bio, etc. Talk with your advisor about this!
-Make sure you get involved in student orgs/research and demonstrate leadership
3.) Accumulate shadowing/patient care hours
4.) Take the Medical College Admissions Test
5.) Finish medical school
6.) Match into a pediatrician residency program
7.) Pass the board exam

Hope this helps!

Rita’s Answer

Finish high school
4 years college
4 years medical school
3 years of internship/residency

I recommend everyone interested in medicine to work as a medical scribe. This allows you to experience medicine, they pay you, you interact with doctors. This will also help you during medical school and make it easier.
