Heyo Michael!

First off—mad respect for your hustle. Practicing 2 hours a day since 13? That’s dedication now! 🙌✨ You’re already doing the hard stuff, and that’s half the battle. Now, if you wanna catch the eyes of the Seattle Sounders Academy scouts, here’s a little something which I hope helps.

1. Scout Identification – Let Them Find You. 😎These scouts are out here hunting for future stars. Play in the most competitive leagues you can find—MLS NEXT, ECNL, or top-tier local clubs. The better the competition, the more likely you are to get noticed. If your team plays in major tournaments, even better—scouts love those.

2. You can totally Shoot Your Shot, The Sounders Academy lets players apply directly through their website. Fill that out and don’t hold back—flex your skills, your stats, and what makes you a baller. Be confident but honest. They want players who stand out AND have the work ethic to match.

3. Get Involved Sounders run camps and clinics that are basically a golden ticket to get on their radar. Sign up, ball out, and make yourself unforgettable. These are perfect for showing them what you’ve got up close and personal.

4 Sharpen Your Game Ask your current coach for a brutally honest evaluation. What are your strengths? What needs work? Once you know, go beast mode on improving those areas. Tactical IQ, speed, ball control—it all matters. You Know Get Feedback!

5. Your Soccer Resume Create a 🔥 highlight reel. Keep it around 3-5 minutes long, showing off your best goals, assists, defensive plays—whatever makes you shine. Share it with scouts, coaches, and even include it in your player application.

6. Network Like a Pro Soccer, like life, is all about connections. Attend Sounders games, mingle with academy players if you can, and stay connected with local soccer communities. Knowing the right people can open unexpected doors.

7. Mindset – Stay Hungry Coaches love players who grind. Show your passion, your work ethic, and your desire to learn. If you don’t make it the first time? Keep going. Plenty of pros faced rejection before they made it big.

You’re already on the right path, Michael. Keep grinding, stay focused, and who knows? You might be rocking that Sounders jersey before you know it. You got this, future star, all the best pal! 😉

Dr recommends the following next steps:

Write down 3 careers that sound fun—no limits, just dream big! You can even send those thought here and we can figure it out together! 😉
Talk to someone (a teacher, family member, or friend) about their job—ask what they love and what’s challenging. Just start with something.

Hello, Michael !

I am impressed that you have a lot of experience playing Soccer and that you want to play professionally ! Keep doing the things you're already doing and learn more about the club, the Sounders Academy. This club has specific recruitment procedures that you can become more familiar with.

This club finds members in three ways: Scout Identification, Personal Player Application and through Youth Programs Identification. You will need to contact the club directly to obtain the information about this recruitment process and see how you can qualify. No one can tell you how to definitely "get in", you will have to be chosen. You would apply at their website and wait to hear back from them.

Nothing in particular would "increase" your chances. They look for expert players, so ask your current coach to evaluate you, what your strong qualities are and what areas the coach observes that you need to work more on. That's all you can do. A lot of confidence, tenacity and knowledge would most likely be in your favor.

Something else that may be a benefit but no guarantee would be to get their schedule from their website and attend as many matches as you can. Stay afterwards and mingle with the players and others. Sports, like the entertainment industry, requires a lot of networking and making contacts.

I hope this is helpful and I wish you all the best !
