Hi Kyleigh! Very exciting that you are looking to transfer to a 4-year program. Here are some tips that can minimize your need for student loans:
1. Save, save, save! Having a good amount set aside for your next step will always make things easier so try to stack whatever money you can while minimizing your expenses.
2. Scholarships and grants! Make sure to aggressively search for whatever scholarships and/or grants that you can apply for. There's many resources out there to help identify these opportunities so don't miss out.
3. Explore financial aid outside of student loans. Grants and work study programs are built to help folks like you manage the cost of college so make sure to check out universities that may offer things like this.
4. Check if your community college has an financial incentives for transferring to certain schools. Not all programs offer this but it's a good idea to check and make sure you know of any opportunities like this.
5. Keep working! Many students continue working throughout their college experience to keep up with costs so planning your transfer around where you can find a job or paid work study program would help a lot.

Keep in mind that college is super expensive regardless of where you go so even doing all of these things still may not cover the entire cost BUT it can certainly make you less reliant on loans and put you in a much better position financially.

Best of luck!
