Hi Ana - I suggest going to a school that is local to where you already live so you don't have to pay for dorm expenses which are very costly. I also suggest looking into colleges that have lower tuition costs (like a technical or community college) where you can complete general education classes/requirements that will transfer to a university. I also suggest taking the maximum amount of classes/credits allowed for the amount of tuition you are paying. Most colleges charge a specific amount for full and part-time tuition which is a range of credit hours. For example, if your full time tuition costs includes up to 18 credits per semester, I suggest taking 18 credits per semester to utilize all of the credits included in that price. This will decrease the amount of time you have to spend in college, and thus, decreasing the amount you will have to pay. Finally, avoid student loans as much as possible. Consider a payment plan and working while in college to pay for tuition so that you do not have to bear the burden of student debt (and interest payments) after graduation.

I would recomend working with your guidance counselor and the finance team at the school that you plan to attend to start looking for resources to assist you in your college finances. Setting aside money every paycheck is a great start to not only saving for college but also starting to save for any unforseen costs in life.
