I am in the 11th grade and i am just beginning to explore my future career, what are some careers and helpful next steps i should consider based on my passions and interest?

At school, i am most interested in math, leadership, and history, while my hobbies include hanging out with friends and listening to music. A topic that i am passionate about is my future. What are some career options that best align with these interest and what are some helpful next steps i can do in the near future?

I love this question and I do a lot of work with teens and YA in this area. You need to determine 3 things: what you're good at, what you care about and what your values are.

1 - are you at your best working with people, data, things or ideas, or some combination? I have an assessment test I use or you can use Career Aptitude on 123test.com. 2 - what things do you care about? Sectors of the economy would you work in for free just because you care so much about them? 3- what are you values? Your values help guide your decision making about what types of jobs and experiences you look for. For example types of values would be - ambition, compassion, adventure. I work with a list of 300 adjectives. I have kids pick their top 3-5.

Now test these three out in volunteer work and part time jobs and take those experiences where they lead you. Good luck!
