How can one balance a difficult degree (like engineering) with social life?

How can one balance a difficult degree (like engineering) with social life? How to not overwork myself and make sure I'm enjoying college and my mental health is in check? I'm primarily worried because everyone who says they do engineering says they struggle with this. I enjoy soccer and art, and I want to make time for those things as well as having good grades.

It's important to have a good mix of school and fun in your life. You'll feel it when you need a break, so don't hold back from taking one.

That's a great question Madison! I've done it (10 years in professionally) and it can challenging. First off, you got this! Although people are telling you that they struggled doesn't mean that will be your experience. Secondly, balance and prioritizing your school and social life is imperative. If you have an important test coming up, it may be best to put alot of the social events to the side and get your work done - although fun and creating experiences in school is important - let's not forget that you are there for your education. Set boundaries and stick to with them.
