How hard is it to get an internship while in college Do most schools help you get one, or do you have to find one on your own??

I am currently a high school senior planning on pursuing computer science while in college. I'm not sure what I'd want to do after I graduate but some sort of job involving AI or machine learning.

Hello!

Getting an internship is a fantastic way to show your dedication to future employers, develop your resume, and help you figure out your major honestly. Many schools host career fairs once or twice a year, with potentially more based on specific majors. The sooner you get an internship, the more you'll stand out in the future. Your first internship can be more difficult since you don't have that evidence of your work yet. I recommend documenting projects you work on in class or for fun. Consider building an app, tutoring others, or engaging in extra curriculars that help develop your technical skills. Also, practice interviewing! Technical interviews may include the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, and Result). The more familiar you are with these items, the better you'll do when you get that interview.

My best advice is start early and show what you love!
