Hey Damen! The best way to study for a college test is to start early and break the material into manageable chunks. Focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing, and use active study techniques like teaching the material out loud, doing practice problems, or creating summary sheets. Attend review sessions, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to visit office hours if you’re stuck. Study in short, focused sessions with breaks to avoid burnout, and try to quiz yourself regularly to track your progress. Everyone studies differently, so experiment a little and find the method that helps you feel confident and clear before test day. Good luck!

Hi Damen. The first thing to do when studying for a test is to prepare your daily schedule to incorporate times for study and review well in advance of the test time. Doing this will not only prepare you for the knowledge needed to do well on the test but it will also boost your self-confidence. With self-confidence comes calm. And calm will help you be at ease for the test. Many mistakes on tests occur when the tested individual is anxious and unsure of themselves. Depending on the type of test you are taking can determine how to best prepare for it. For instance, a history test requires reading and understanding concepts. So, you prepare by reading in a comfortable environment isolated from outside distractions. If you can record the lectures, it is good to listen to those recordings before the test. Taking a math test is not easy for most people and that's why you must work through problems repeatedly beforehand. I had a particularly hard math test to prepare for, and I became very frustrated that I couldn't understand a problem fully. In desperation, I left the study area and went outside for a walk. When I returned to studying, I was amazed at how easy the problem was to solve. All it took was some fresh air and exercise. Exercise clears the head and naturally relieves anxiety. I wish you all the best!
