what are some volunteering and internship opportunity for students that is interested in the Medical field and are willing to sign up?
I am a senior with a strong interest in the medical field, currently seeking volunteer and internship opportunities in healthcare to gain hands-on experience and deepen my understanding of the profession.

Almost any volunteer work that demonstrates you care about helping others makes a difference to those looking to accept candidates into medical school. Consider research internships that are often offered at universities - especially those with medical schools (from San José I would look at University of Santa Clara and Stanford, but there are likely others nearby). I agree with Amy that working towards getting an EMT is a good idea that gives one experience as well as an opportunity to earn money while advancing in your studies. Your local hospitals may have volunteer opportunities, but many laws and regulations make it hard to have "hands on" healthcare experience unless you are in a training program. I was able to get hands on experience by working with a solo practice family physician, but those are hard to find. You can ask your own primary care physician if you might be able to do something. Healthcare is not just about illness. You may be of great help to others working to provide food, housing, tutoring... All such opportunities look good on your resume.

If you are interested in the medical field, a great opportunity would be to volunteer with your town or campus's EMT squad. You will gain valuable exposure to the medical field, interacting with patients, staying calm under pressure, and working as a team. You will also being giving back to your community so it will be an overall great experience.
