Alexander;

What a good question, especially if you are going away to college.
First you have to know yourself. Are you an organized person, a procrastinator, a morning person or a night person, when do you have the most energy and best concentration levels. When do you just want to veg out?

College unlike high school is not going to have parents and teachers giving you a push to get assignments turned in or extensions. Either you make it or you don't. Your first year in college is going to be a personal eye opener to be sure.

After you know the answers to the above: When scheduling classes understand yourself and set your class schedule as will best suit you. If you need to sleep late, then maybe you don't start classes until 10:00. Or maybe you decide to take night classes because you are more alert and focused in the evenings. It will give you a different perspective too. As most individuals in night classes are adults seeking additional education opportunities. Do you only have classes on M, W, F and have T and Th as study / homework days? Or do you spread classes out through the week?

Are you going to be working? Full time/ Part Time? Is your schedule flexible or rigid?

Advice: Your 1st semester schedule your time work, classes, and study/ homework time and be sure to schedule time to socialize. You are going to have new people and groups pulling you in different directions - try to resist if they want to do something during a planned study time. Setting boundaries with your social group is also important.

As an example: If you have an English class at 10AM - 11AM on M, W, F you may want to leave 11AM - 1 PM open for Lunch / Social Time. Then have Math and Science classes 1PM - 2PM/ 3PM - 4PM. PS if you schedule back to back time frame classes know where they are on campus and ensure you can get from one to the other.
