Maxwell’s Answer

Hey Jordan,

You've asked the age-old question. Unfortunately, there is no one size fits all answer for balancing life, however, there are techniques one can use to gain more productivity throughout their day. As an individual who played college lacrosse, made the dean's list each semester, and was an active member of my social fraternity, I was constantly pulled in a multitude of directions throughout my four years at college. The first and most important question you must ask yourself is, 'what are your priorities'? When you have your priorities straight, decision making becomes much easier. For example, academics were always my number one priority at school. If a friend asked me to go out to the bar with him the night before a test, I would cordially turn down his request as a night out would affect my performance on the test the next day. Once you understand your priorities, attempt to plan your days as much as possible. I would attempt to plan my following day by the hour each evening. Planning your day will help you understand if you're allocating you're preferred amount of time to your activities; studying, practicing, socializing, 'chilling', etc.

I hope my answered provided some insight,

Misty’s Answer

First and foremost is time management. I always found that if I tackled the easy studies first, then I could focus a bit more on the ones that were a bit harder and then also it would open up more time as I would have the easy stuff out of the way. I definitely say study first and let the rest fall into place and as well as athletics look on college apps, you have to have the grades to keep those team spots these days so that comes back to study first and as for social life, study groups are great for that and that is also what weekends are for
