How can I make money online as a student with no experience?
I'm a student looking for real online jobs that pay daily or hourly. I have no professional experience yet, but I'm willing to learn and work hard. I prefer remote jobs like data entry, tutoring, AI annotation, or typing tasks. What websites or platforms are best for beginners like me? How can I avoid scams and make sure I get paid?

It’s awesome that you’re starting early and being careful about scams. Here’s some advice specifically for students in the Philippines with no experience:
1. Best Online Jobs for Beginners
A. Data Entry & Typing
OnlineJobs.ph – This is a legit site focused on Filipino freelancers. You’ll find data entry, typing, and even simple VA (virtual assistant) jobs. Many employers are open to beginners.
Upwork – Global platform, but you can filter for entry-level jobs. Start with small projects to build your profile.
Fiverr – You can offer “gigs” like typing, data entry, or simple research tasks. Set your own rates.
B. Tutoring
51Talk – Popular for teaching English to Chinese students. They provide training, and you don’t need teaching experience.
Preply – You can tutor any subject you’re good at, including English, Math, or even Filipino.
Facebook Groups – Search for “Online Tutoring Jobs Philippines.” Sometimes parents or agencies post direct opportunities.
C. AI Annotation & Microtasks
Remotasks – This is popular in the Philippines for AI annotation, image labeling, and other microtasks. You get paid weekly via PayPal.
Appen and Clickworker – Both offer small online tasks like data labeling, surveys, and more. They accept beginners and pay via PayPal.
2. How to Get Started (Even with No Experience)
Create a simple resume – Highlight your willingness to learn, attention to detail, and any school projects or skills (like typing speed, English proficiency, etc.).
Sign up on 2-3 platforms – Don’t spread yourself too thin, but try a few to see which works best for you.
Start with small jobs – Even if the pay is low at first, it helps you build experience and get good reviews.
Be honest in your profile – Employers appreciate honesty and a positive attitude.
3. How to Avoid Scams
Never pay to apply or get a job. Legit sites don’t ask for money upfront.
Check reviews and ratings of employers or platforms (search “[platform name] legit or scam”).
Use secure payment methods like PayPal or Payoneer. Avoid direct bank transfers to strangers.
Trust your gut – If something feels off (like promises of very high pay for little work), skip it.
4. How to Make Sure You Get Paid
Stick to reputable platforms (like the ones above) that have payment protection.
Read the terms – Some sites pay weekly, some monthly, some after each task.
Keep records of your work and communication with clients.
For direct clients (outside platforms), ask for partial payment upfront or use escrow services.
5. Extra Tips
Set up a PayPal and GCash account – Most sites pay through these.
Practice your skills – There are free typing tests online (like typing.com) and free English tests (like Duolingo English Test).
Join online communities – Facebook groups like “Online Filipino Freelancers” are great for tips and support.
Good luck ha!

Hello again, Jose Emmanuel !
If you have no experience (but job interests) and want to be assured not to be "scammed", I have some advice that may be just what you're looking for, but it is not online. A first job should not be online as it will resemble activity no different than what you do everyday while on the internet. You need tangible and in person interactive experience.
To begin with you will need to contact the Public Employment Service Office in Lipa, Calabarzon, Philippines because they offer a great program called Job Start Philippines ! This is your opportunity to receive life skills training, technical training, and internships with private companies. They will help you get a job. This program takes special care to prepare you for the work force. In addition, if you participate in this program, you even get a Career Coach !
There is another program for you called the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. They provide technical and vocational training programs in Lipa. There's even another program called The Special Program for the Employment of Students. This opportunity provides temporary employment for low-income but high-performing young individuals to assist them in financing their educational (college) expenses.
I know and respect that you are wanting a job online, but if that doesn't work out, definitely utilize these programs. I refer you to them because your first job should be one that introduces you to human interaction with a manager and co-workers, a chance to hone your communication skills, possibly meet new friends and discover your strengths. The programs are ideal for people who have no experience.
Now, this is just my opinion, but there are no websites or platforms that are good for a beginner like you. The way to avoid scams is to work in person where the communication flows spontaneously, you get to know the people and not spending time sitting in front of a screen trying to figure things out. The in person programs are there to help you if you really want to start working. Once you get experience and it's suitable to obtain online or hybrid work, you can do that, but for now, you need to learn what employment is all about.
You also have to come to terms with the idea that you can't pre-determine how you get paid. The company will tell you how often and how much you will get paid, it's not something the employee can request. It's like that with both online and in person on site jobs. If you're not ready to commit to becoming more well informed about employment, that's okay and I hope that through your searching you find an online job that is acceptable to you.
In the end, you will do what you want, however, I believe that you can benefit from having any information that can best help you. Try not to shut the outside world out by doing everything online. Make a decision and I wish the best for you !
