If you're passionate about something, that's fantastic! School can feel different from the real world, so it's a good idea to shadow someone or volunteer in the field you're interested in. This way, you can see if it truly excites you. Every job has its ups and downs, but don't worry. If things don't go as planned, you can always explore other options, like being a nurse in a smaller office setting. There are so many paths you can take!

Jose’s Answer

Hi Delilah,
I think no one knows beforehand if they've chosen the right career, but if you decide to study nursing because it's your calling, you'll always be proud of having pursued your dream.
Some choose a career based on what they expect to earn, others based on what their parents impose on them, and the bravest opt to study what they're passionate about. If you choose to study nursing because you're passionate about it, I think you'll never be able to consider your decision wrong because you enjoyed the process.
It's true that there's always the risk of starting to study something we think we're passionate about and then discovering we were wrong, but mistakes are part of learning, and in my experience, it's worse to regret not having tried than to try and discover we were wrong.
I encourage you to choose the career you're passionate about because if you're passionate about it, it's right for you, and no one knows for sure what's right for their future.
