What major would be best as a backup to become a law enforment officer?

Id like to minor in criminology and criminal justice but im not sure what I should major in as a general backup. I cant see myself doing anything other than being in law enforcement, but a major to help as a backup if something goes bad would help!

That's a great question. Joseph touched on the main points, so here's something else to consider: many police and federal law enforcement agencies rely on accountants to investigate white-collar crimes like money laundering and fraud. If you're good at math, this could be a career path for you, even if law enforcement isn't your final choice. A business degree might also be helpful. In my police academy class, there were people from many different backgrounds because agencies look for diverse skills. Everyone brings something unique to the team, so don't feel restricted to just studying criminal justice.
