What is some good advice for a student pursuing a business degree and a trade like hvac and electrical?
I want to go to UCO for my business degree and than go to a Tech school for electrical or hvac.

Hi Layton,
You've asked a really important question, and I've talked about this with my adult children and their friends. I think your plan is excellent. Having both a trade skill and a degree is a smart move. I wish I had done the same. This approach helps you adapt to changes in the job market. If you lose an office job, you can work as an electrician, or the other way around. Even better, you could start your own electrical business.
I recommend having a clear strategy. If you can, try getting an electrician apprenticeship first. Many companies will hire and train you. It takes time to complete an apprenticeship, but you can also attend college part-time online. Do this while you're young and full of energy.
Good luck with your career journey!
