What is the best route to take in order to get to my career Should I do more internships or take on more real-world roles and getting experience??
I plan on majoring in Public Administration and then running for local office, and then from there I would like to run for National Office. I am split on running for local office such as City Council or should I shadow and intern more national level politicians.

Even though my job is different from what you're interested in, I suggest thinking about the 70-20-10 rule for learning.
This model says most learning happens through doing (70%), learning from others (20%), and formal training (10%). It means that by working on tasks and gaining experiences, you learn a lot. Formal training gives you the basics, and interacting with others helps you improve through feedback and watching others. It's not a strict rule, but it helps make learning more practical.
From my experience, working on real tasks, like interning, makes what you learn stick better. Plus, starting your career this way is a great chance to meet people and build connections. I'm not in your field, but I hope this perspective helps.
