Why are so many students transferring to high end Universities right after High School?
I am a student at Chino High School, and through a unique Dual Enrollment program, I am on track to graduate with my High School Diploma, a College Diploma, and an Associate Degree in Studio Art all at 18 years old. Because of this program, my entire college education so far has cost me roughly half a thousand dollars.
I see my peers celebrating their acceptances into high-end universities like UCI and UCLA, but I’m concerned for them. They are about to spend tens of thousands of dollars—and take on massive debt—just to complete the same CAL-GETC (General Education) requirements that I have already finished for next to nothing. By the time they even start their major-specific classes, they'll already be in a "financial grave." Is there a reason other students are making these decisions that my family has always advised against?

I graduated with a Journalism degree from San Jose State that met those requirements for curriculum and faculty. After graduation, I went to work as a field for two magazines, worked as a writer for 30 years in Silicon Valley for companies like Apple and Yahoo, and wrote personal blogs.
If students knows what they want to do and are willing to pay the price to achieve it, they should go all in.
