Your question is fantastic! Successful businesses usually have three key traits: they are always needed, hard to copy, and can grow easily. Consider areas like healthcare, property management, or niche services. Also, explore emerging fields like AI support or eco-friendly landscaping.
Think about your own strengths and if there's a market for them—a quick SWOT analysis can help. This tool helps you look at Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.
Let's dive into some exciting business ideas that could be big this year, including fresh trends and smart strategies:
- Service-Based Businesses: These can provide steady income without needing a lot of startup money. Think about options like commercial cleaning, landscaping, or senior care.
- Digital & Tech Services: With the rise of AI and cybersecurity, there's a big demand for services like AI consulting, IT management, and digital marketing.
- Real Estate and Property Management: This is a great way to build long-term wealth with steady income and good returns.
- Health and Wellness: Areas like personal training, mobile pet grooming, and nutrition coaching are growing, especially with more people focusing on health.
- E-Commerce and Digital Products: Creating online courses, print-on-demand services, and specialized e-commerce platforms are promising and cost-effective.
All the best, Anton Jones

Start by paying attention to two things: what you enjoy and what you’re naturally good at. If you like being around people, leading, persuading, or organizing, you may enjoy careers in business, sales, management, event planning, or marketing. If you like solving problems, working with numbers, or thinking deeply, you may enjoy fields like engineering, accounting, analytics, technology, or finance. But you do not need to decide your whole future right now. The most important thing is to learn about yourself, build strong habits, and get exposure to different kinds of work. Talk to adults about what they do, ask what they like and dislike about their jobs, and notice what sounds interesting to you. Focus on communication, responsibility, and real-world experience, because those skills matter in almost every career.

That's a great question! The best type of business for you really depends on what you love and what you're good at.
Think about your favorite subjects or activities you enjoy. If you like math or solving problems, you might be interested in finance, accounting, or managing a business with a focus on budgeting. If you're into creativity or social media, marketing or starting an online venture could be exciting for you.
Remember, you don't need to have everything figured out right now, and college isn't the only option. What's important is to explore different areas. You can do this through classes, part-time jobs, helping in a business, or trying small projects on your own.
As you try different things, you'll notice what you enjoy and excel at. This will guide you toward a business or career that suits you best.

What suggestions folks have for a career is not simple.
Your future will hopefully be committing to something that you enjoy, and something that you're good at. I don't think there's an answer without serious and patient consideration. I'd suggest you prepare your mind with a well rounded education and see where that takes you. Careers last a long time - there's no immediate rush for someone who is just getting to know themself in high school.

It is important to assess what your interests are and what you are good at. Are you a socializer? Maybe a business such as sales, party planner, or fundraising would be a good fit. Are you analytical? Maybe something in sports (they love stats) or accounting or data analytics would be something you could pursue. Sit down and make a list of both and then talk to family and family-friends to determine what they do for a living and how their job requirements measure up to what your strengths are. A great book is Your Hidden Genius. It applies to all ages. You can purchase it on Amazon (costs about $21) and comes with the free assessment. Best wishes for a fantastic career!
