Hi Emme,
Nurses have many different roles and job titles. Direct patient care will help guide your decisions in which way you would like to start down the healthcare route. Becoming and gaining experience as a CNA is a great way to provide patient care. Other certifications that can give you opportunities with patient care include Medical Assistants (MAs) and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). MAs normally work in offices, taking vitals and ask questions. EMTs work on the ambulance and are exposed to dynamic environments where you have to think on your toes. As an EMT, there are usually a good number of volunteer opportunities that work with high school students some of these can provide free training and even scholarship funds. These are other ways to gain hands on experience and any of these certifications will open doors for you to become more involved.
Good luck on your journey!

Look for an unpaid internship with someone in that field. It might take some effort to find the right person, but the opportunity is definitely out there!
