To become a food scientist, you typically need a bachelor’s degree in fields like food science, food technology, chemistry, biology, or nutrition. These programs teach you about food composition, safety, processing, and quality control, which are essential for working in the food industry.
Some roles, especially in research or advanced product development, may require a master’s degree or higher. Gaining hands-on experience through internships or lab work is also very important, as it helps you apply what you’ve learned and makes you more competitive in the field.
