What are the best strategies for succeeding in a real estate career?

I am planning to go to college for a degree in Business Management and minor in Education. I am a high school senior now but would like to start getting my real estate license while in college. Also, when getting my real estate license my goal is to one day own my own firm.

Networking - every real estate person I know knows everyone and everything happening.

Learn the market - learn not only housing but also commercial and real estate leasing as well.

Be quick - know the product, know the customer. Be quick to put the two together so your sales have everyone in the right place at the right time.

A great approach is to find someone who has done really well, invite them for a cup of coffee, and ask them how they achieved their success. It's also important to join a company that cares about helping you grow. There are many fantastic real estate companies out there. Best of luck!
