Hello Jackie.
Congrats on choosing to become an architect. Depending on where you live, there is a combination of matriculation, experience and assessment required before you can obtain a license. Be sure that you enroll in a university that has professional architecture program so it counts toward your licensure. It literally takes thousands of hours to qualify you for a license, so consider accruing experience through internship and professional development programs during breaks in school. Finally, there are a series of tests ranging from design to business practice you will have to pass in order to show your aptitude as a professional. The overall process takes at least five years, but the knowledge base and growth will be time well spent.
