What challenges have you faced as a male nurse, if any, and how have you overcome them? #Spring26
I am expected to graduate and take my NCLEX in Spring 2027. From there, I anticipate starting my nursing career in a hospital setting. From my observation, most nurses are female, and I am wondering what challenges may lie ahead.

A few years ago, I started my journey as a male nurse. Back then, there weren't many men in nursing, which was a bit challenging. I decided not to go to medical school, and I was straight, which sometimes surprised people. I remember in school, we had to practice breast exams, and one kind classmate let me practice because I was married. Over the years, things have become more accepting. Now, whether you're a male or female nurse, it doesn't matter—you're just a nurse. You still need to prove yourself, but with both men and women working in all areas of healthcare, your gender isn't important. So, don't worry and just follow your passion.
