Subir’s Answer

Balancing work and other responsibilities is a never-ending struggle. I like setting aside about 30 minutes a week to create a loose schedule for the week. I put reminders in my calendar for to-do's and give myself a big window to do it. For example, laundry. I have a reminder to put in my laundry so I don't forget and it doesn't pile up. Some things are quick so then I use that as flex time to check in with myself and give myself a break.

The other thing is limit your social media time. It engages your brain for no real payoff and can suck hours out of your day. Monitor that and try to reduce it and you will find yourself being more present and more able to balance the needs in your life.

Subir recommends the following next steps:

Set aside time to make a list of priorities for the week and put those in your calendar.
Limit time wasted sitting on your phone, doom scrolling.

Balancing school and work can be tough, but having a routine really helps. Here's what worked for me: I set specific times for schoolwork. I study from 6 AM to 8 AM before work, then again from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM after work. On Saturdays and Sundays, I dedicate 4 hours each morning to schoolwork. This schedule keeps me organized and prevents last-minute stress.

Managing your time well and staying organized is important. Use a planner on your phone, computer, or a paper organizer. Spend a little time each night planning the next day, and on Sunday evenings, plan out your week. This helps you stay focused and achieve your goals. Without a plan, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start. By staying organized and creating a simple schedule, you can find extra time each day. Take it one day, week, or month at a time—you've got this!
