Hello Gabrielle!
First, you will want to be in some kind of hospitality position. If you want to work in food and beverage, work as a server; if you want to work in hotels, work at the front desk; if you want to work in theme parks, work at an attraction. While doing so I would recommend getting a degree at a school that leads in hospitality. A couple of excellent ones are University of Houston Hilton School and University of Central Florida Rosen College. Most large hospitality companies now will either pay for school or help pay for it in some way. Next you will want to be a sponge and learn as much as you can. Knowledge is power in this industry. Also, networking is vital as well. Half of my success has been due to people that I have met along the way. Patience is also a virtue, if you work hard don't try to rush and show too much ambition your hard work will show and your leaders will have a plan for you. Oh, and last tidbit, gossip is tempting in this industry, just be careful what you talk about and who. Good luck!
