If you're thinking about a career in law, it's a good idea to see what lawyers really do every day. You can do this by shadowing them, getting an internship, joining a legal clinic, or just having a chat with them. Lawyers spend a lot of time doing research, writing documents, and analyzing information. If you like finding facts, spotting patterns, and building arguments but worry about too much paperwork, consider other jobs that use similar skills but have a different style. Jobs like forensic analysis, policy research, compliance, intelligence analysis, consulting, data or legal analytics, journalism, or research-based communications might suit you. Checking out these options early can help you find a career that fits your skills and the way you like to work.
