What type of study habits should I get into? And how should I start them?

I am a college sophomore studying crime scene investigation. I am interested in learning new skills to help my grades and for me to become a better student.

Figure out how you best study- is it alone? With a group? Do you need to make outlines, use note/flash cards or are you better reviewing the textbook, relooking at slides from class? Or do you need to talk through the material and sit with a group and almost re-teach yourself. Once you find your best method, you have to understand when you study best. Do you need to study first thing in the morning or do you like a mid-day study session or are you best at night? Finding where you succeed will help set you up for success!
