What was the hardest part about becoming an investment banker and what extra steps should be taken in order to grow within the career space?

I'm a high school senior entering college next year with the eventual hope of becoming an investment banker. I excel at math and am very interested in the economy.

Hi, thanks for your question. If you have curiosity and a passion to understand how businesses grow and how leaders can expand their reach through strategic alliances, M&A, or access to capital markets, you will find that it’s not hard but fun to be part of the group of people that advice and make interesting ideas flourish. I honestly believe that IB is a great training, but my advice to you is to use the next few years to learn about all the other areas where you are not so strong. We are living in exciting times when opportunities lie in multiple areas, and the most important thing is to have the willingness to challenge yourself and the broadest knowledge possible so you can contribute to a team. Good luck with your studies and always excel at trying, even when you fail, rest assured that learning comes through challenges and staying grateful.
