If you are focused on making money and avoiding long work hours, you should not pursue medicine. Ultimately, physicians do tend to have good salaries, but only a few become rich. Much of that stems from the debt incurred during schooling and the inability to put money into retirement accounts early. One becomes a physician because they care about helping others and they enjoy the lifelong learning that is required.
Becoming wealthy as a business woman isn't easy, either. Few highly successful people become that way without doing a lot of hard work. I would say the possibility of acquiring wealth may be higher in business, and the possibility of becoming bankrupt is definitely higher in business.
Most doctors do need to do overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts, and it is common during training to work 80 hours per week. In business, you may have to awaken to do business in other time zones, and to align your schedule with the markets.
