My background is in social work, but I would say regardless of which field you serve clients, establishing and maintaining boundaries will always be an important strength. Obviously utilizing trauma-informed and person-centered care is of utmost importance. Understanding and maintaining your professional boundaries will not only help you advocate for yourself, but it also allows for integrity, and it will help you in the future when you come across ethical issues.
