Sammy’s Answer

I would recommend you being a soccer coach. A coach must be hard working, and dependable. Rain or shine, hot or cold, coach has to be at field to not only help the team practice, but also provide the guidance.

Eva’s Answer

I would start by doing a career and interest survey. I am sure there are other things you are interested in that you may not be aware of. When I first went to college, I had no idea what I wanted to do. The only thing I knew I liked was German, so I applied as a German Language student. I quickly realized that while German is fun, it might not be the best career path, so I had to find something else to study. I liked art and being creative, and I liked teaching and helping people. I liked understanding how things worked and doing puzzles. So I ended up going into marketing. Not only was I able to get a job, but something that pays me well and enables me to have my own place. I am able to express my creativity. I do communications to help enable and educate our sales teams on our products. I have done website design and made videos and podcasts. It was a great combination of my interests and a viable career.

For you, since you know you like reading and soccer, you can look at careers that involve on or the other of those. Like Sammy said, a soccer coach could be a great job for you. Or since you like reading, you might want to see what you can do with that. Do you like analyzing? Perhaps an editor could be a good job. Maybe a librarian? If you like kids, perhaps become a teacher. You could be the language arts or English teacher and the soccer coach. There are many options. Also, the older you get, the more you learn about what you like and do not like. Don't be afraid to try new things.

Eva recommends the following next steps:

Make a list of your interests and hobbies and try to determine why you like those things
Look into career possibilities that include those underlining themes/traits
Try being a coach for a communit soccer team, see if you like that
Volunteer for some local organizations, try new things, see what you enjoy doing
Have fun
