Yes, there is expected to be more demand for skilled lineman in the coming ten years. Many utilities are still investing in transmission improvements as new substations, power lines, and smart devices are installed throughout the grid. There's also the continual need for routine maintenance on circuit breakers and transformers as well. Unplanned failures happen often too. Overall I would say it's a pretty secure and in-demand job.
