After Med school, you will need to do a program called Residency, which is similar to Masters, that is if you want to pursue the path of becoming a Doctor. It is a 2-3 year program, you will get a monthly stipend to support your expenses. You will need to get a good score/percentage in the USMLE exams to get into good Residency programs. After completing the Residency, you can further pursue specialization (for ex: MD in Cardio/ Nephrology etc) by taking up the PhD program.
